How to get to Sitges
Sitges is 40 minutes from Barcelona by commuter train. Here are all the options to arrive from the city, the airport or the motorway.
Transport options to Sitges
Rodalies R2 Sud train (recommended)
- From Barcelona Sants or Passeig de Gràcia
- Frequency: every 20-30 min
- Journey time: ~40 minutes
- Price: ~4€ (valid with T-Casual card)

Sitges station is a 5-minute walk from the town centre.
From Barcelona El Prat Airport
- Terminal T2: direct R2 Sud train to Sitges (~35 min, no transfer)
- Terminal T1: shuttle bus to T2 + R2 Sud train (~50 min total)
- Alternative: taxi/VTC from T1 (~25 min, ~35-45€)
If you land at T2, the train is the cheapest and fastest option.
By car
- Via AP-7/C-32 (toll motorway): 35 km from Barcelona, ~35 min without traffic
- Via C-31 (free): more scenic, along the coast, ~50 min
- Parking in Sitges: pay-and-display in the centre, L'Estació car park near the beach
In summer and at weekends, traffic can triple the journey time. The train is more reliable.

- Journey time: ~1h (depending on traffic)

How long does the train from Barcelona to Sitges take?

Can you get to Sitges from Barcelona airport without changing trains?
Yes, if you depart from Terminal T2. The R2 Sud train connects T2 directly to Sitges in around 35 minutes. From T1 you first need to take the free shuttle bus to T2.
Is there free parking in Sitges?
Parking in the historic centre is pay-and-display (blue zone). Free parking is available in peripheral areas about 10-15 minutes' walk from the centre. In summer it fills up fast; we recommend arriving before 10:00 or taking the train.
Are there night trains back to Barcelona from Sitges?
Yes, the last train from Sitges to Barcelona is usually after midnight (check current timetables at rodalies.gencat.cat). At weekends there are additional night services.
