July and August are the hottest months, with maximum temperatures of 28-30°C and minimums of 22°C. The sea reaches 25-26°C in August.

Are the beaches crowded in August?

Yes, August is peak season and central beaches (La Ribera, Sant Sebastià) get very busy. We recommend going before 10am or heading to more distant beaches like Garraf or Coves Blanques.

Should I book a hotel in advance for summer?

Absolutely essential. Sitges hotels sell out months in advance in July and August. Book at least 2-3 months ahead for the best options.

How do I get from Barcelona to Sitges in summer?

Take the Rodalies R2 Sud train from Sants or Passeig de Gràcia, 35-40 minutes from €4. More frequent in summer. Also by car via the C-32 motorway, about 40 minutes.
