Gay Sitges: complete guide to the Mediterranean's top LGBTQ+ destination
Sitges has been Spain's most important gay destination for decades. The Carrer del Pecat, Home Mort beach, Carnival and a year-round open atmosphere make this coastal village a European reference.
Carrer del Pecat and the gay scene
Parrot's Pub
The most iconic bar in Sitges, with a terrace always packed. Mixed crowd with strong international gay presence — perfect for early-evening drinks.
Organic
The reference club of the circuit, dance-focused and late-night. Fills up after 1am in high season.
El Candil
A classic with history, popular among Sitges regulars. More intimate atmosphere, great for a relaxed drink.
Bourbon's
Intimate atmosphere with a good music selection. Very popular with the Sitges regular community.
Platja de l'Home Mort — Sitges' gay beach
Two kilometres south of the centre, Platja de l'Home Mort is Sitges' iconic gay and naturist beach. No permanent beach bar — bring water and food. From the centre: walk 20 minutes south along the shore, passing under the railway bridge. Fine sand, calm water, very relaxed vibe.
Essential LGBTQ+ events
Sitges Carnival (February)
One of Europe's most important Carnivals with an exceptional LGBTQ+ dimension. The Rua de l'Extermini parade draws thousands of visitors from around the world. Book accommodation months in advance.
Sitges Pride (June)
More intimate than Barcelona Pride but with a special character. The entire week has programming across bars, clubs and outdoor spaces.
Bears & Leather Weeks
Sitges hosts specific events for the bear and leather community during certain weeks of the season. Check local organisers' channels for updated dates.
Beyond the gay circuit: Sitges nightlife
Sitges' nightlife extends far beyond Carrer del Pecat. Bars on the promenade, beach chiringuitos and mixed venues complete a scene that runs until dawn in high season.
