Sitges in August: Complete Summer Guide 2026
August in Sitges: 29°C, 17 beaches, the Festes Patronals (19-25 Aug) and a packed cultural program. Everything you need to know.
August is Sitges at its best. With temperatures hitting 29°C, 17 beaches, the town's biggest festival, and a summer cultural program with over 40 events, this small coastal town 40 minutes from Barcelona becomes the Costa del Garraf's undisputed summer destination.
What makes August special in Sitges
Sitges in August has it all: guaranteed sunshine (17 hours of daylight), calm Mediterranean waters and a town buzzing with energy. Terraces fill up, beaches come alive and the atmosphere in the old town is unlike any other time of year. The chance of rain is just 14%, so the weather is almost always on your side. Despite the crowds, Sitges remains more authentic and less touristy than other Costa Daurada resorts.
Festes Patronals: the unmissable August festival
The Festes Patronals de Sitges run from 19 to 25 August and are the highlight of the summer. Highlights include fireworks over the sea, human towers (castellers), correfoc fire runs, traditional dances and giant puppet parades through the old town. The 23 August fireworks display — a spectacular pyrotechnic castle over the sea with the historic seafront as backdrop — is one of the most photographed moments of the Catalan summer.
Important: accommodation during the festes (19-25 Aug) sells out months in advance. Book as early as possible.
