Kid-friendly museums
Museu Cau Ferrat (€12, under-7s free) is the most visual: Santiago Rusiñol's home-workshop with works by El Greco and Picasso. The Museu Romàntic (Can Llopis) fascinates older children with its 19th-century antique doll collection. Both can be visited in 1-2 hours with kids.
Passeig de la Ribera and the old town
Sitges' car-free seafront promenade is one of the most beautiful in Catalonia — traffic-free, with Mediterranean views and ice-cream parlours every 100 metres. The medieval old town, with its narrow lanes and the hilltop church of Sant Bartomeu, makes a great 1-hour stroll with children.
Parks and outdoor activities
Parc de les Rieres d'en Cintet (near the train station) has play areas, picnic zones and natural shade. The Aiguadolç marina offers catamaran trips and kayaking for children. In summer, beach kiosks rent water toys and inflatables.
Best time to visit Sitges with kids
Summer (July-August) — maximum fun: The sea reaches 22-23°C and beaches are at their best. Average temperature 28-29°C. Beach bars and water activities fully open. The downside: peak crowds and highest prices. Book accommodation months ahead.
Spring (May-June) — Sitges' best-kept secret: With 20-25°C and sea already at 18-20°C, spring in Sitges is ideal for families. Fewer tourists, more reasonable prices and uncrowded beaches. Swimming is possible from late May. The Tapa a Tapa route (24 Apr-10 May) adds a food dimension for adults.
Carnival (February) — the Giants' Parade: Sitges Carnival includes the 'Rua dels Nans' (giants and big-heads parade) on Sunday morning — hugely popular with children. Temperatures around 12-15°C but the festive atmosphere makes up for it. Book accommodation 3-4 months in advance.
