If you can't make it for Carnival, February is still a quiet, affordable month to discover Sitges without the crowds.

The Ruadas: Carnival Parades
The ruadas (parades) are the heart of the Sitges Carnival:
Rua de la Disbauxa (Carnival Tuesday): the most spectacular and irreverent parade. Costumes are elaborate — feathers, sequins, painted bodies — and creativity reaches professional levels. Starts at 18:00 along the Passeig de la Ribera. No censorship, no limits.
Rua de la Desbauxa (Sunday before): the family-friendly and largest parade. Groups from all over Catalonia participate and floats compete for prizes. Starts at 17:00. This is the most-watched parade, with many visitors coming from Barcelona.
Children's parade (Saturday): the little ones of the village in coordinated costumes organised by schools and families. Very moving and photogenic.
Burial of Carnival (Ash Wednesday): the most theatrical ending of all. With lit torches and the effigy of "dead Carnival", participants march at night to the beach for a symbolic burial at sea. A poetic and melancholic farewell to the festivities.
