Sitges in May: Tapa a Tapa, spring & guide
May in Sitges: 22°C, Tapa a Tapa tapas route (24 Apr-10 May), Bears Meeting and spring festivities. Complete guide to events and where to stay.
May is the month of contrasts in Sitges: the most popular food event of the year — the Tapa a Tapa tapas route — coincides with the opening of beach season, mild Mediterranean spring temperatures and an atmosphere not yet affected by summer crowds.
Why May is special in Sitges
May combines the best weather conditions of the year — 22°C, the sea warming up, clear skies — with an events calendar that rivals the summer. Restaurants are in full swing and the Passeig de la Ribera is the social heart of the Costa Daurada. It is also the month with the highest number of visitors thanks to Tapa a Tapa.
Tapa a Tapa Sitges: the event of the year
The Tapa a Tapa tapas route is Sitges' most popular food event. The 2026 edition runs from 24 April to 10 May: 40 restaurants create a special tapa at €4.00 (includes a small beer or glass of Estrella Damm). Visitors tour the restaurants, vote for their favourite and compete for prizes.
